How much is the franchise fee and what are the on-going royalties? As of January 1, 2010 the OutGROW OutPLAY franchise fee is between $2,499 and $4,999 and the royalties are 5% (excludes any taxes) on gross sales. We are sure you will agree that our franchise fee is minimal compared to average franchise fees of $25,000 and up and the average royalties of 6% to 15%. In addition, your franchise will contribute an additional 1% of your gross sales annually to be put towards the Franchise Owners National Advertising Fund. Annually at our convention, Franchise Owners decide how these funds are spent to best support all markets.
How much capital is required to start my own franchise? In addition to the franchise fee, you will need additional capital to get your business up and running. We estimate that an investment up and above the franchise fee of approximately $3,500 to $12,500 is required depending on your territory size and marketing strategy. This covers start-up expenses such as racks, tables, laptops, POS equipment (scanners, cash drawers, receipt printers), mobile interact machines, venue rental, insurance, marketing, and miscellaneous supplies.

Do I need to live in the franchise territory that I’d like to own? Yes or live within a 25 kilometre proximity. Your involvement within your community will directly affect your level of success. It is important that you build a core group of customers, consignors, business partners, community and charity partners.
How big are your territories and are they exclusive? Franchise Owners are assigned exclusive geographical territories. Using statistical data, territories are considered by the number of families with children 1-14 living in a household. OutGROW OutPLAY is very generous with territory size. Your success is our success!
Can I have a business partner? Yes... we actually encourage this! Each partner must go through the application process with you.
How many hours does it take to hold an OutGROW OutPLAY SALE? A typical sale will take 8 to 12 weeks of part-time preparation. You can easily coordinate a sale around your family, job and other activities in your life. The more your event grows, the more time it will take and the more money you will make.
Do I need experience to be a Franchise Owner? No, but you do need the right attitude! OutGROW OutPLAY looks for people with an entrepreneurial spirit or background and strong people skills. We will teach you everything you need to know about running a successful consignment sale but we can not teach you to be positive, passionate nor can we teach you to genuinely enjoy helping people.
How much money will I make owning an OutGROW OutPLAY Franchise? There is no ceiling on what you can earn. During our interview process you are encouraged to contact our existing Franchise Partners. With a bit of leg work, you can run the numbers and gain a fairly accurate estimate. Becoming an OutGROW OutPLAY Franchise Owner starts out part-time in the beginning and can easily turn into full-time income with time and growth. As your sale grows, you will put in more time and energy but you will also make a lot more money!
